Organized with Devotion by: Sukachi Sawali Welfare Foundation
At Sukachi Sawali Welfare Foundation, our guiding principle has always been to be the soothing shade (‘Sawali’) in the scorching sun of someone else’s adversity. This Diwali, we invite you to join hands with us in our dual-city initiative. When we feed a child and dress an orphan with dignity, we invoke the true blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. We pledge absolute transparency, heartfelt service, and direct on-ground execution to ensure your contribution directly lights up these young lives.”
Diwali is celebrated across the country as the triumph of light over darkness and hope over despair. While homes glow with fairy lights and aroma fills dining tables with delicacies, two vulnerable groups often remain enveloped in cold neglect:
The Children of Matruchaya Balak Ashram, Pune: Orphaned children who watch festive skies ignite while longing for the warmth of parental celebration, festive meals, and the simple joy of wearing crisp, brand-new festive clothes on Diwali morning.
Street Children of Mumbai: Thousands of innocent boys and girls sleeping under flyovers, traffic signals, and railway platforms, where hunger is a daily reality and festive celebrations are merely shadows seen through shop windows.
True illumination does not come from firecrackers or lanterns alone; it begins when we bridge this gulf of inequality and ensure that no child feels forgotten by humanity on Diwali day.

During our volunteer visits to shelter homes in Pune and food-relief drives across Mumbai, two poignant moments gave birth to this combined event:
At Matruchaya Balak Ashram, an eight-year-old boy quietly asked a volunteer: “Bhaiya, do people wear new clothes on Diwali because God visits them? Does God not know where our ashram is?”
Along the traffic signals of Mumbai, young street children were seen scavenging discarded sweet boxes after festive stalls shut down for the night.
These encounters shook our core. We realized we could not simply celebrate in the comfort of our homes while our own children in Pune and Mumbai stood in darkness. We decided to unite these causes into a single, seamless festive campaign: Dignity & Feast for Matruchaya Ashram (Pune) and Warm Meals for the Street Children (Mumbai).
“A diya flickers brightly when fed with oil, but a child’s soul shines bright when touched with love.”
Imagine a 7-year-old child wearing a brand-new traditional kurta or dress for the very first time, looking in the mirror with sparkling eyes and uncontrollable laughter. Imagine a hungry child sitting beside a bustling Mumbai street receiving a freshly packed, warm, wholesome festive meal instead of stale scraps.
Your contribution is not merely charity—it is an act of sacred devotion (Seva). You become the family they never had, the light they prayed for, and the reason they believe the world is kind.

Verified Financial Audits: At the close of the monsoon season, a fully transparent, line-item financial utilization report audited by independent Chartered Accountants will be published on our website and emailed directly to you.
These children have no safety net—**you are their hope**. By supporting Sukachi Sawali Welfare Foundation, you’re not just donating money; you’re investing in a child’s right to dream, heal, and thrive.
