☀️ The Spirit of Adik Maas ☀️

The Spiritual Significance of Adhik Maas

In the Hindu calendar, Adhik Maas (also known as Purushottam Maas) is a rare and sacred extra month that occurs approximately every three years. Dedicated entirely to Lord Vishnu, this month is widely regarded as the most auspicious time for spiritual purification, prayers, and acts of selfless charity (Daan).

Hindu scriptures emphasize that the spiritual merit (Punya) gained from charitable acts performed during Adhik Maas is multiplied a thousandfold. It is a time to cleanse past karmas and invite divine grace by serving those in the greatest need.

How Sukachi Sawali Welfare Foundation is Making The difference

  • Event Preview: The Adhik Maas Orphan Feast Initiative

This Purushottam Maas, the Sukachi Sawali Welfare Foundation is organizing a sacred food distribution drive (Anna Daan) specifically for orphaned children. While the entire month is sacred, we have chosen the two most powerful days of the month to provide a grand, festive meal to these children, ensuring they feel loved, nourished, and celebrated.

    Why Padmini and Parama Ekadashi?

Ekadashi holds the highest spiritual prominence in the Hindu faith, and the two Ekadashis that fall during Adhik Maas are extraordinarily rare and powerful:

    • Padmini Ekadashi (May 28, 2026): Falling during the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon), observing fasting or performing charity on this day brings merit equivalent to visiting all the holy pilgrimages in the world. Feeding the hungry on this day is believed to invite peace and lifelong prosperity to the donor’s family.

    • Parama Ekadashi (June 11, 2026): Falling during the Krishna Paksha (waning phase of the moon), Parama Ekadashi is renowned for dispelling poverty and washing away deeply rooted sins. Offering food to innocent children on this day brings supreme spiritual liberation and immense divine blessings.

The Deep-Rooted Need for This Event

1. The Nutritional Gap at Matruchaya Balak Ashram (Pune) Growing children require a steady intake of proteins, vitamins, and calories to support their rapid physical and cognitive development. Unfortunately, orphanages often operate on incredibly tight, unpredictable budgets heavily reliant on sporadic donations. This financial strain frequently forces compromises on daily food quality.

  • The Reality: A cost of Rs 250 per child covers an entire day of wholesome, balanced meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), ensuring they receive fresh vegetables, lentils, dairy, and a sweet treat to celebrate the festival.

  • The Impact: Relieving the financial burden of daily food costs allows the ashram’s administration to redirect their limited funds toward critical educational resources, medical care, and facility maintenance.

While many of us associate festivals and holy months with grand family feasts and celebrations, millions of orphaned children spend these auspicious days with empty stomachs and a longing for family. Our foundation recognizes that true devotion to the divine lies in serving the divine present in every living being.

This event goes beyond basic survival; it is about dignity and joy. By providing a special, high-quality festive meal, we are not just filling their stomachs—we are telling these children that they are cherished, remembered, and a vital part of our community.

### **Why This Initiative Matters**

  • An Emotional Appeal to Our Donors

They may not have a family to cook them a warm, festive meal, but they have you.

As we step into the divine grace of Adhik Maas, we invite you to look beyond your immediate circle and extend your love to the children who need it most. Imagine the smile on a child’s face when they receive a meal made with love, care, and the spirit of celebration. Your contribution is not just a donation; it is a manifestation of divine love. It is the protective shade—the Sukachi Sawali—that these children seek.

Let us come together to turn their hunger into happiness. Open your hearts, share your blessings, and let the immense spiritual power of Adhik Maas transform both their lives and yours.

### **Transparency Promise**

  • Our Uncompromising Transparency Promise

    2. Live Visual Proof: Donors will not be left wondering where their money went. We will share high-quality, time-stamped photos and video updates from the ashram in Pune and the streets of Mumbai, directly to your phone or email.
