For most of us, winter means cozy sweaters, hot beverages, and comfortable nights tucked under thick duvets. But for the thousands living on the unforgiving streets of Mumbai and Pune, the dropping temperature isn’t nostalgic—it is a nightly battle for survival.
The concrete floors turn icy, the wind bites, and a good night’s sleep is an impossible luxury.
At Sukachi Sawali Welfare Foundation, we believe that warmth is a basic human right, not a privilege. True to our name, we aim to be the “Shade for Happiness” for those left out in the cold.
This December, we are launching an ambitious drive to ensure no one within our reach has to sleep shivering. We are targeting two major initiatives:
Mumbai (The Street Drive): Reaching out to the homeless individuals and families living on pavements and under bridges, providing them with immediate warmth.
Pune (The Ashram Drive): Supporting the vulnerable children at Matruchaya Balak Ashram, ensuring these orphans feel the comforting embrace of society.
MUMBAI LEG: On December 20th, our teams will scour the streets, underpasses, and railway stations of Mumbai to provide blankets to the pavement dwellers.
PUNE LEG & MATRUCHAYA ASHRAM: On December 27th, we move to Pune. Alongside street distribution, we have a very special mission: visiting the Matruchaya Balak Ashram. We will ensure every orphaned child there receives a brand-new, warm blanket—a tangible hug to let them know they are not forgotten.
[Donate ₹1500] – (Provides 6 Blankets – Recommended!)
[Donate ₹3000] – (Warms 12 Lives)
[Donate ₹5000] – (Become a Winter Guardian for 20 people)
[Other Amount] – (Every Rupee Counts).
A blanket is more than just a piece of fabric.
For an elderly woman on the street, it is dignity.
For the children at Matruchaya Balak Ashram, it is the comfort of knowing someone cares.
For a daily wager, it is a restful sleep that allows them to work another day.
It is a shield against illness, pneumonia, and the despair that cold nights bring.
We have sourced high-quality, durable blankets that provide immense warmth. We have negotiated a bulk cost where warmth is surprisingly affordable.
The Cost: (Text in Deep Burgundy) A set of TWO quality blankets costs only ₹500.
The need is massive. The streets are crowded, and the ashram needs our full support. To ensure our volunteers don’t have to turn anyone away empty-handed, we need to maximize our reach.
We are earnestly appealing for a minimum donation of ₹1500. (Text in Deep Burgundy)
Why ₹1500? Because your ₹1500 doesn’t just help one person. It provides SIX warm blankets. That is six lives touched, six people sleeping soundly because of your generosity.
Photos/videos of the event will be shared with donors.
– Receipts fo expenses publicly posted on our website.
– Every rupee accounted for.
These children have no safety net—**you are their hope**. By supporting Sukachi Sawali Welfare Foundation, you’re not just donating money; you’re investing in a child’s right to dream, heal, and thrive.
