Gudi Padwa marks the dawn of the Marathi New Year, symbolizing victory, hope, and fresh starts. On March 18, 2026, as we raise the Gudi and welcome prosperity into our homes, the Sukachi Sawali Welfare Foundation is launching a special initiative to feed the underprivileged. This year, we aim to extend the festive joy beyond our own families and share it with orphaned children and homeless individuals who often go without a celebratory meal. True prosperity is shared, and together, we can ensure that the sweetness of this New Year reaches everyone.
To maximize our impact, our Gudi Padwa food drive is divided into two focused phases:
Phase 1: Bringing Smiles to Pune
Location: Matruchaya Balak Ashram, Dighi, Pune.
Action: Arranging a special, nutritious festive meal to ensure these orphaned children experience the warmth and joy of the New Year.
Cost: ₹200 per child.
Phase 2: Nourishing Families in Mumbai
Location: Streets of Mumbai.
Action: Distributing wholesome food packets designed to feed a family of three, providing immediate relief and festive cheer to the homeless.
Cost: ₹300 per food packet (feeds 3 individuals).
Transparency is key to our mission. Below is a breakdown of how your financial contribution directly impacts lives on the ground. 100% of the funds raised directly cover the procurement, preparation, and distribution of these specific meals.

Festivals are a time of family, abundance, and celebration, but for marginalized communities, they can be a stark reminder of isolation and scarcity. Orphaned children lack the family structure that makes festivals special, while homeless families on the streets face the daily struggle of basic survival. A festive meal is more than just food; it is a gesture of dignity, love, and inclusion. By providing special meals on Gudi Padwa, we are not just fighting hunger—we are delivering a message of hope and community solidarity to those who are too often forgotten.
Holi is celebrated as the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring. But beyond the vibrant powders and festive sweets, the truest colors of Holi are compassion, love, and unity. The philosophy of our event is simple: Joy multiplies only when it is shared. While many of us are privileged to celebrate with our families, thousands of children look at the festivities from the outside. We believe that no child should be left out of the celebration, and by sharing our resources,we can become the brightest colors in their lives.
Your generosity does more than fill an empty stomach; it fills a young heart with hope. A special meal at the ashram replaces a regular day with a lasting, joyful memory. For the children on the streets, receiving organic colors and a fresh food packet means they are seen, valued, and included in society’s celebrations. You are not just donating money; you are donating a childhood memory that they will treasure forever.
As we coordinate this outreach effort from our headquarters in Kandivali East, Mumbai, we urge you to extend your table. Your contribution will directly translate into a hot, festive meal for a child or a family who needs it most.
Stand with the Sukachi Sawali Welfare Foundation this Gudi Padwa. Let us start the New Year not just by seeking blessings, but by becoming a blessing to others.
